PAIN IS GOD is an indie music short film inspired by analog horror. Through a fragmented collection of music videos, lyric visuals, voicemails, and recovered recordings, it tells the story of Kai following his mysterious disappearance and death. The film and music not only unravels the haunting traces he left behind, but also reflects on the weight of mental health struggles, urging viewers to consider how they spend their lives, what they choose to leave behind, and the sobering reality that tomorrow is never promised.
From international love to family struggles, the stories told through the music are based on reality, told by Kai himself (real name Malaki).
The film is available on Bandcamp for digital download, as well as on DVD alongside a sequel album. Purchase of the digital download includes an exclusive bonus track.
100% of sales will go to The Jed Foundation to support and spread awareness to mental health struggles.
